Mascot fee just £700 with West Ham
Refreshing to know we’re the most expensive in the league. Ripping our fans off to the ‘nth’ degree.

Fucking outrageous.

Re: Mascot fee just £700 with West Ham
my boys did it many years ago when you didn't get a full squad of kids just 2 - 3 . So there was just one other boy and my 2. It was for the game against Redknapp when was managing Portsmouth I think.
We got tickets , met players in dressing room with the team. Konchesky has scary eyes....
Autograph book each with all players photos which you got signed so we went round and got them signed by them , talked to the manager Pardew at the time. Even had a word with Redknapp who told us to have a great time.
Also the gave us a video of the day. Also both got the full kits and a penalty shoot out before the game.
My family also got a box for the day as there were so many of us going and met Phil parks who said scoilni was not very good. everything except the result was excellent.

But I wouldn't do it now as to me there are too many kids doing it so there is no way you would get the personalize treatment we did.

Selling drugs inside the stadium is a more moral way of earning extra money.
It's something unbelievable and unthinkable IMO.

You can be the one to tell Sully that he's missing out on £75k!

A friend of mine is a Liverpool fan and her boy was chosen as a mascot - they only had to pay for transport. An excellent experience in changing rooms, pitch side, tickets for parents, photos AND kit !!!! ... great PR. Personally I would say the problem is people have too much money and are prepared to pay to please their kids ... why not have half of them open to purchase and half a lottery for members free ?

Re: Mascot fee just £700 with West Ham
It's a vile amount of money. But as Coffee says, that's £150k or so per season - there's no way on the planet that those three would ever turn that down while people are daft enough to pay it.

FWIW - it's less for Cup games and free for away games.

Re: Mascot fee just £700 with West Ham
It's an insane amount of money, travelling up with my youngest from Bournemouth on matchdays costs a small fortune. He'd love the opportunity but I think I already spend enough on the bloody club as it is! A ton each trip just for the train fare and grub.

Re: Mascot fee just £700 with West Ham
My brother did it 30 years ago and I remember my dad saying it was expensive even then. At least it was a proper experience then - changing rooms, autograph from every player, full kit, signed ball, seats by the dug out etc

It just cements the fact that we're so two bob.

?
It is the first time that I come across such information, is this a common thing among english clubs?
Do english clubs charge kids such sums for being team mascot and enter the field before games with the players?
Unbelievable.....

Re: Mascot fee just £700 with West Ham
I emailed to ask details out of curiosity. You get the following auto response. I suppose supply & demand they have people queuing up to pay it so they can charge that amount. Having said that, Man Utd etc could clearly do the same but choose not to.

Life of Riley

It can't be bollocks because then they'd get sued by the club.

There may be different packages available though.

That's a decent wage for the kids, given what the players earn.
Beats doing a paper round

Now wait a minute. I'm told constantly on here that the most successful must be at the front of the queue. Surely that must apply to mascots too? Otherwise we're not being consistent.
Tgere's just no room for dads with no money. No fucking room.

Re: Mascot fee just £700 with West Ham
It should be free of charge at every club...

Another reason to hate modern football.

It's O.K to pay a carthorse who can't pass a ball or trap a bag of cement 50K a week yet it's not possible to let a kid run out as a mascot for nothing?

Shite Shite Shite
